Most people start with PL-900 (Power Platform Fundamentals), a Fundamentals-level cert that builds the base before the more role-specific Power Platform exams.
PL-900 is Fundamentals-level and proves broad, conceptual knowledge. PL-300 is Associate-level and proves you can perform real tasks with the product. PL-900 is a common (not required) on-ramp to PL-300.
No. Microsoft doesn't require PL-900 before PL-300. But if you're new to Power Platform, starting with PL-900 makes PL-300 much easier.
